Some buildings become landmarks not simply because of their scale, but because their architecture becomes part of a city's identity.
Originally designed by the legendary architect John Portman, the hotel's open atrium and distinctive cascading geometry established a strong architectural presence in Singapore's hospitality landscape. This is one of the city's most established destinations for luxury retail, dining and hospitality.

The transformation was not about replacing the identity of the original landmark, but about redefining it for a new generation of luxury hospitality. Under the guidance of Lighting Planners Associates (LPA), LUCITAG's lighting systems were integrated into this renewed architectural environment, creating a balance between contemporary performance and the character of the existing structure.
More than 4,100 pieces ARCHI DOWNLIGHT series luminaires were installed across guest rooms, restaurants, corridors, washrooms and entrances, establishing a consistent ambient lighting framework throughout the hotel.

One of the key technical challenges was upgrading the lighting performance while retaining compatibility with the existing Phase Dimming and 0–10V control systems. Through internal circuit redesign and extensive stability testing, LUCITAG optimized the luminaires for flicker-free operation and consistent dimming performance across the atrium galleries, open corridors and lift areas.
Within the restaurants, lighting was carefully calibrated to support both visual comfort and premium culinary presentation. Combined with CRI 90, the system preserves accurate colour and material expression.
Flexible accent lighting through TRACK SPOT series allows galleries and restaurant spaces to adapt to changing art displays and layouts. At the lobby, 35m of GRAZE SMART COVE emphasizes the building's geometric surfaces, while more than 450m of FLEX MILKY SLIM TOP BEND traces the exterior silhouette with continuous, dot-free illumination.
The result is a contemporary lighting system that reinforces Conrad's renewed identity while preserving its enduring architectural character.
