The lighting scheme for the He Art Museum in Shunde establishes a restrained nighttime identity that complements the building’s refined architecture. While the main circular volume emits a gentle internal white glow, the exterior lighting focuses on subtle, localized articulation rather than visual spectacle. To define the main entrance walkway, LUCITAG Landscape Inground Graze 35 linear luminaires are integrated flush within the hardscape along the concrete retaining wall, creating a controlled upward grazing effect that highlights the raw texture and formwork details. This single-sided, concealed installation guides visitors toward the threshold while preserving clean architectural lines by day. Complementing this, LUCITAG Land Spot 65 fixtures are discreetly placed within surrounding planting zones to illuminate selected trees, adding a softer secondary layer of pure white accent light that balances the concrete structure without competing for attention.
Together, the architectural and landscape lighting systems form a cohesive nocturnal composition in which built form and nature are experienced as a unified spatial sequence. The restrained lighting approach enhances orientation and legibility while preserving the museum’s contemplative character, allowing material texture, spatial depth, and architectural clarity to define the visitor’s approach.
