Located in Shanghai’s Hongqiao business district, the dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House is defined by a precise, modular glass curtain facade. To reinforce its geometric clarity at night, 620 units of SMART COVE OUTDOOR were integrated into the building envelope.
Operating in Pure White, the system articulates the facade through discrete vertical slits of light, aligned with the building’s window rhythm. The result is a restrained, staccato composition that adds texture and depth without altering the architectural order.
Controlled via DMX, the installation is finely zoned to maintain consistency across the glazed surface. The lighting remains deliberately understated, enhancing legibility and structure while preserving a calm, architectural presence within the dense urban context.
