Situated within Shanghai’s historic Jing’an District, The Portman Ritz-Carlton remains an enduring symbol of the city’s luxury hospitality landscape. To revitalize the hotel’s prominent entrance and water features, LUCITAG developed a dynamic architectural lighting scheme that balances classical elegance with a contemporary nighttime identity.
At the heart of the project is the Landscape FOUNTAIN 270 RGBW series, transforming the signature fountain into a vibrant visual centerpiece. Through precision-controlled color transitions, the water features shift seamlessly from refined warm white tones to bold saturated hues, enhancing the architectural character of the courtyard environment.
Integrated DMX control enables synchronized lighting scenes across the fountain installations, creating fluid visual experiences that enrich the hotel’s arrival sequence. Combined with subtle wall grazing and underwater illumination, the lighting composition reinforces the timeless sophistication of The Portman Ritz-Carlton while introducing a renewed sense of energy within the Shanghai Centre complex.
