Set along the Haihe River, the Tianjin Huijin Center stands as a defining high-rise within North China’s financial district. Its stepped Art Deco crown and strong vertical spine required a façade lighting strategy focused on clarity, scale, and long-distance visual control. LUCITAG delivered an architectural lighting system designed to reinforce the building’s geometry and establish a clear nighttime identity on the Tianjin skyline.
Crown Illumination System
A total of 202 units of the Wash MEGA BLAST series were deployed to define the tower’s upper crown and structural apex. Engineered for supertall applications, the system delivers high-output performance to reach elevated architectural volumes with controlled falloff. Narrow-beam optics minimize spill light, preserving the sharp silhouette of the stepped crown while ensuring stable visual definition against the night sky.
Vertical Façade Definition
To articulate the tower’s structural rhythm, 1,322 units of Graze HP LINEAR DC were integrated along vertical lines and façade recesses. The continuous grazing effect emphasizes the building’s segmentation, translating its architectural framework into a readable light pattern from distance. Low-profile fixtures remain visually discreet during the day, preserving the integrity of the original architectural form.
Unified Nighttime Identity
The combination of crown illumination and vertical grazing creates a layered lighting composition, balancing a clearly defined apex with continuous structural rhythm below. This approach establishes a cohesive nighttime identity for the Tianjin Huijin Center, enhancing its geometric clarity and reinforcing its presence within the Tianjin skyline.
